Ever notice a roadside historic marker during your travels. This purpose of this site is to document these historic roadside markers found throughout Central New York. This is a work in progress and currently focusing on Oneida, Herkimer, and Lewis Counties. All photographs were taken by the project team unless indicated otherwise. Found 284 markers to date.
Original markers installed by the State Education Department around 1926-1939 are becoming harder to find due to the passage of time and make up a small percentage of the current historic roadside marker universe.
